“Most of us imagine ourselves to be the Cinderella character as we stumble along waiting for a fairy with a wand (and probably an ulterior motive) to save us from the ugly stepsister holding us back in life, which is why it’s hard to discover that we might just be the ugly stepsister.”

Unofficial Bio

To make a horrendous pun, I am an open book. It's one of the things I most love and most loathe about myself. My true emotions are on display at all times. I have a tendency to overshare, which is often NOT a benefit. I love almost all things nerdy: Doctor Who, Disneyland, the Marvel Universe, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings--you get the picture. Basically if you can see it at Comic Con, chances are good that I think it is awesome. I love that I am often invited to speak at Fan X because those are my people.

For reading, I love almost all the literary genres. I'm a sucker for all things Jane Austen, a sweet romance, a fun YA, a serious slice of life, a charming fairytale, an epic journey across woodlands or deep space, or a silly picture book. This fact is likely why I have written in so many genres.

I'm not always the best version of myself, but I believe in second chances and getting up and trying again. And I really believe in the power and magic of love, forgiveness, generosity, and compassion.

And I love travel. The world is beautiful and amazing, and I want to see all of it.
