7-7-7 not just for vegas anymore

Lauren tagged me in the 7-7-7 Challenge. And since I am the world’s flakiest blogger, I figured this was a nice opportunity to do something different and, oh, I don’t know . . . actually WRITE a blog post! I’ll give my excuses for my lame blogging habits later, for now,I’m doing the challende. Rules: Flip to page 77 or page 7 of your current WIP. Find line 7. Post the 7 sentences that follow. Tag 7 more writers.

So here are my seven lines from page 77, taken from Capes and Curls–a fractured fairytale:

He released me with a small shove, dropped the sack of tools he’d had over his shoulder, and ran off toward the path that led to the deep woods.

“Well, wait for me, you lovesick fool!” I hurried after him.

“Why would she go to the deep woods? She knows it isn’t safe!” He demanded an answer as he turned to cast a glare over his shoulder. “How could you let this happen?”

I stopped and stared at the back of his head, thinking how easy it would be to pound the back of that thick skull of his with a large rock. “This is not my fault!”
